Morning walk 2012
Oil on canvas 40x45cm
When I walk in the countryside my thoughts are set free. I am entirely surrounded by fields and trees and sky. Where do I to begin to look and draw and where do I finish looking? This thought was the genesis of the idea of making my own space that could be looked at from one precise viewpoint.

I could articulate ideas within fixed parameters and diligently respect the edges of the canvas.

I love to feel the pulsating energy that radiates from the trees and plants and animal life and to feel part of the complexities and organization of the natural world. A seed is designed and engineered to travel efficiently and the stones that I am walking on were formed within a time frame way beyond my comprehension.
